Autumn Rising

My little ray of sunshine

brightening the darkest of days.

My heart no longer my own.

Stolen, or willingly given, who can say.

Sweet music the sound of her laughter

bright are her eyes, how they shine.

Infectious, her beautiful smile

Thankful to have her as mine.

Strong and healthy, I watch her grow

from infant to child to teen.

No trouble has she ever given

no teenage dramatic scenes.

Eighteen beautiful years to the day

what a glorious time it has been.

Close and rare is the bond we share.

She is my heart, my daughter, my friend.
